What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a manual medicine which aims to understand the¬†causes¬†of the patient’s symptoms and consider¬†the different systems of the human body as a whole. For instance, musculoskeletal system interracts with nervous & visceral system.

Osteopaths use exclusively hand contact to diagnose and treat functional disorders. A functional disorder is a medical condition that impairs normal functioning of bodily processes.  Also, this malfunctioning remains largely undetected under examination (scans, biology etc.).

As an illustration, 85% of low back pain cases are said to be non-specific. This means no particular pathology is involved.
